“Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo,” is a drama series which tells the story of overseas Filipino workers. It will reveal the truth about the OFWs. The soap will run based from different real OFW stories. It will expose the real hardships of life being an overseas Filipino worker (OFW).

UAAP Season 74 Women’s Volleyball Semifinals

The Far Eastern University (FEU) Lady Tamaraws defeated the Adamson University (AdU) Lady Falcons during their playoff for 4th spot on the UAAP 74 Women’s Volleyball on Monday, February 13. The Lady Tamaraws won the three-setter game with scores of 25-19, 25-17 and 26-24.

To join the Final 4 for the UAAP Season 74 Volleyball, Women are the DLSU Lady Spikers, ADMU Lady Eagles, and UST Lady Tigresses. A step-ladder format will still be used in the semifinals.

ABS CBN Wako Wako Premieres March 2012

Wako Wako is an upcoming fantaserye on ABS-CBN.

 

It will be top billed by Ai Ai de las Alas. Members of its cast include Gladys Reyes, Vandolph Quizon, Carlos Agassi, Franco Daza, Maricar De Mesa, Liezl Garcia, Markki Stroem, Dennis Padilla, Malou De Guzman, Abby Bautista, Eagle Riggs, and introducing child actor Yogo Singh.

Wako Wako is an Arukan or wish elf and Ai Ai will play the role of Goddess of the Arukan. Pilipinas Got Talent Season 1 finalist Ruther Urquia will voice Wako Wako.

“[S]i Wako Wako ay isang creature na pwede kang humiling ng kahit na ano. May limitasyon pala yun pagdating sa pag-ibig mga ganyan, pero mag iingat ka palagi sa hinihiling mo. Kasi baka may kapalit ito. Kumbaga yun ang idea nung kwento.” the series’ director, Wenn Deramas further revealed.

GMA: It Started with a Kiss Premieres on February 20

The Taiwanese drama series “It Started with a Kiss” starring model, actor and singer Joe Cheng and singer-actress Ariel Lin, will air beginning this Monday, February 20, in GMA-7’s Afternoon Prime block.

 Based on the Japanese animated (mangga) TV series “Itazura na Kiss,” “It Started with a Kiss” tells a story about two teens several IQ’s apart. Joe Cheng plays the role of Joseph, an introverted student who is the most intelligent one in class, while Airel Lin plays Arianne, his exact opposite: intellectually-challenged but uber-social.

Arianne meets Joseph for the first time in their batch’s orientation and immediately, she falls in love with him. Unfortunately for her, Joseph is not only turned off by her low IQ, he also thinks that she is the most stupid girl in class. But Arianne is not one who easily gives up. She tries her best to meet Joseph’s standards, hoping it would capture his attention.

Good thing for Arianne, fate seems to be on her side. An earthquake levels Arianne’s home and so she was forced to live in the same house as Joseph’s. It turns out that Joseph and Arianne’s dads are high school friends. Joseph’s parents are in Arianne’s favor and even exert extra effort in coaching her in her studies so she could win Joseph’s heart.

It’s a story of three young girls — Camille, Whitney and April who just transferred to Lamberto Uy Villarama University to finish High School, only to find out that they will learn the highs and lows of being in love at a very young age.

It’s about two sisters who are polar opposites who are brought together by a big challenge they must both face. Kris will portray the older but responsible sister while Anne is the younger and rebellious one.

Robin is cast as the man who will come between them. Child star Xyriel Manabat is also part of the cast.

The bout, titled as Welcome to the Future: Donaire vs. Vasquez will be a co-event with Cesar Chavez Jr. defending his WBC middleweight title against Marco Antonio Rubio.

UFL Cup Kicks off this Janaury 14 2012

UFL Cup (United Football League) Kicks off this Saturday, January 14 2012.

Three new teams enter the fray in the First Division as last season's Second Division winners Nomads FC, Stallions FC and a new look Pasargad FC were promoted, while seven new clubs from the UFL Cup will join the Second Division such as Agila FC, Cebu Queen City United, Diliman Victory Liner, Forza FC, Laos FC, Pachanga FC and Team Socceroo FC.

Three venues will be used for the First Division of the league namely, Rizal Memorial Football Stadium for the Saturday fixtures and both the University of Makati and Nomads Sports Club for the Sunday fixtures. The newly opened Turf@BGC will be used for the Second Division fixtures.

Philippine Air Force-Phoenix FC, the reigning league and cup champions, will be tested early on as they face Kaya FC in the opening match of the league this Saturday, 4:00pm. It will be followed up with the second match of the league as cup runners-up Loyola Meralco Sparks faces Green Archers United in the second match at 6:00pm.

Sunday's matches will also be exciting as Stallions FC begin their first division campaign against Philippine Navy Redjuice FC at 4:00pm at UMak, while Global faces Philippine Army Fritz and Macziol FC in the only game at Nomads at 4:30pm. Nomads Auction Manila and Pasargad FC round up the first week of the fixtures at 6:30pm in UMak.

The Philippine Azkals is schedule to go up against a visiting professional football team Incheon, South Korea to be held at the Rizal Memorial Stadium this coming January 21, 2012 as part of the Sendong Charity Game.

The game between the South Koreans and the Philippines will bolsters its preparation for the upcoming AFC Challenge Cup Finals slated on March 9-13 in Nepal.

The upcoming game between the Philippine Azkals and the visiting South Koreans were made through the effort of Dragon Promotions led by Charlie Williams in partnership with ABS-CBN. It will be aired on Studio 23 through ABS-CBN Sports.

NBA on Studio 23

The wait is finally over for Filipino fans of the National Basketball Association (NBA) as the NBA returns to Studio 23 with a back-to-back treat on Monday (Dec 26) for the league’s 2011-2012 season.

The face-off between last season’s championship contenders, the Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks, will be telecast via satellite at 8 a.m., with a same day primetime airing at 7 p.m.

Dallas, which reigned over Miami and won last year’s championship, has found further reinforcement in the players who recently joined the team. Lamar Odom joins the fold this season after leaving the Lakers, his team for seven years. NBA superstar Vince Carter has also joined the Mavericks to reunite with former New Jersey Nets partner Jason Kidd. Miami, meanwhile, has kept its power trio – LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh – intact.

As an appetizer to the championship match-up, the battle between the Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers will air live at 6 a.m., with a same day primetime telecast at 9:30 p.m. The Lakers are currently grappling with significant changes in their team after losing renowned coach Phil Jackson last season and veteran forward Lamar Odom in the off-season. The Bulls, meanwhile, has kept in its roster its Chicago-native star player Derrick Rose.

Next Saturday (Dec 31), the game will be between the Bulls and the Los Angeles Clippers, which will air on Studio 23 live at 11:30 a.m. On New Year’s Day (Jan 1), the Philadelphia 76ers will face the Golden State Warriors on live at 10:00 a.m. The following day, January 2, the Lakers will return to play the Denver Nuggets live at 9:00 a.m. All games will have same day primetime airings at 9:30 pm on Studio 23.
