Binay maintains lead over Roxas

With two certificates of canvass (CoCs) to go, Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay still leads Senator Manuel Roxas II with over half a million votes in the vice presidential contest.

The votes, however, from the remaining CoCs from Davao City (over 500,000) and Lanao del Sur (over 300,000), total to over 800,000 that could still affect the final standing.

As of 5:23 p.m. Monday, Binay is ahead of Roxas by 565,929 votes.

Three of the five remaining CoCs were canvassed Monday – Eastern Samar, Bacolod and Mt. Province.

The Davao CoC was not canvassed because the ballot box manually transmitted to the Senate did not contain the statement of votes (SoV). The canvassing committee directed the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to produce a printed copy of the SoV.

CoC from Lanao del Sur, which had a special elections last week, has not yet been transmitted to Congress.
