Court holiday affects Abalos

Commission on Elections Benjamin Abalos’ camp will not be able to file today any motion in connection to his arrest due to a “court holiday.”

Abalos surrendered himself yesterday after the Pasay Regional Trial Court issued a warrant of arrest for his electoral sabotage case.

Security guards did not allow the media to enter the premises of the trial court, saying there are no orders yet from court officials for any coverage.
There are no visual signs yet of any court judges or employees wearing black or any other symbol in support of Chief Justice Renato Corona, who was recently impeached by the House of Representatives.

Corona will address the nation at the Supreme Court on Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. Stakeholders of the judiciary are expected to troop to the high court in support of Corona.
