February 25 is declared Special Holiday

February 25, 2012 is declared by MalacaƱang as a Special Holiday for all schools, both public and private, in the Philippines to commemorate the 26th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution with the theme “Edsa 26: Anong Taya Mo Para Sa Pilipinas Natin?”.

The announcement was made in November 2011 via President Noynoy Aquino’s Proclamation No. 295 – Declaring The Regular Holidays, Special (Non-Working) Days, And Special Holiday (For All Schools) For The Year 2012.

It is still going to be a regular working day for employees since it is not a special non-working day, so they have to go to work on this day.
