Duterte daughter takes lead in Davao mayoralty race

The daughter of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte appears headed to replace her father after taking an early lead against former House Speaker Prospero Nograles in the city's mayoralty race.

As of 12:17 a.m. Tuesday, incumbent Vice-Mayor Sara Duterte got 352,506 votes over Nograles's 146,283 votes. The City Board of Canvassers said it has already received 89% of the transmitted results of various clustered precincts in the city.

The incumbent mayor, meanwhile, got 400,315 votes in the race for the vice-mayor's post. His rival, former mayor Ben de Guzman, got 95,975 votes.

The results showed former president Joseph Estrada getting the most number of votes in the presidential race, with 222,622 votes. Liberal Party standard-bearer Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III placed 2nd in the race with 181,975 votes, followed by Lakas-Kampi CMD bet Gilbert Teodoro with 47,722.

Nacionalista Party standard-bearer Manny Villar placed 4th in the presidential race with 24,576 votes, while Bangon Pilipinas bet Bro. Ed Villanueva placed 5th with 12,428.

Bagumbayan bet Sen. Richard Gordon took 6th place with 3,811 votes.

For the , Estrada's runningmate, Jejomar Binay, topped the vice-presidential race with 247,877 votes, followed by LP bet Mar Roxas with 205,411 votes.

NP vice-presidential bet Loren Legarda placed 3rd with 21,127 votes; former MMDA chairman chairman Bayani Fernando was 4th with 9,022, and Perfecto Yasay was 5th with 6,259 votes.

Actor and Lakas-Kampi CMD vice-presidential bet Edu Manzano placed 6th in the race with 4,519 votes while broadcaster Jay Sonza trailed the rest with 922 votes
