Earth Hour 2012 Philippines

One of the largest environmental awareness events held annually, Earth Hour is set to take place on March 31, 2012.

The global event, which aims to increase knowledge and perception about climate change calls for turning off lights from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. following local time zones on Saturday. Earth Hour 2012 necessitates people to unite and protect the planet.

Filipinos are encouraged to turn off non-essential lights on the said time and date for more than 1 hour. The Philippines has been a top Earth Hour participating country since 2009.

Earth hour kicked off in Sydney, Australia in 2007 and was organized by the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF).
