After giving birth to a healthy baby girl, Andi Eigenmann is set to do the pinay remake of hit Mexican telenovela - "Maria Mercedes". Dubbed as Heiress of Drama, Andi is actually getting ready for her big comeback on TV. She's now back to losing weigh.
Last October 2011, Andi Eigenmann revealed on Kris TV that the role was offered to her by ABS-CBN just before her unexpected pregnancy occurred. And because she wouldn't be able to portray the role while pregnant, the Kapamilya network waited for Andi to give birth. They could have given the role to someone else, but they seem to believe that only Andi is fit for the role.
"Maria Mercedes" is one of hit telenovelas of Thalia. It was shown in ABS-CBN way back in 1996 which pitted against RPN-9's "Marimar." If this TV series project will prosper, this could be the fourth telenovela of Thalia revived in the Philippines along with GMA-7's "Marimar" and "Rosalinda" and of the currently airing "Maria La Del Barrio"
According to some reliable sources Martin del Rosario was chosen to be her leading man who Andi had already worked with in Minsan Lang Kita Iibigan.
