No Cellphone signal in Quiapo due to Black Nazarene Itim na Nazareno Feast

Devotees of the Itim na Nazareno will not be able to use their cellphones in Quiapo as the Philippine government has ordered the telecommunications companies (Smart-Sun and Globe) to shut off signals amid terrorist threats.

Cellphones may be used as a triggering device for explosives. President Noynoy Aquino earlier revealed that they have received information about a possible bombing during the procession and they are not taking the threats lightly.

Meanwhile, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Nicanor Bartolome said that they have deployed 8,000 police personnel for the Black Nazarene 2012.
