Tarlac precinct where Aquino will vote ready for automated poll

Election officers who will be manning the precinct where Liberal Party standard bearer Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino will vote are now preparing the PCOS machines, ballots and other materials to be used by voters when it opens this morning.

As early as 5 a.m.today, foreign and local media trooped to the Central Azucarera Elementary School in San Miguel, Tarlac to witness Aquino casting his vote in his hometown.

In the official list of registered voters of the Commission on Elections, Aquino will be voting at precinct 175-A, where more than 900 people are set to vote. The school has three precincts, with a total of almost 3,000 voters.

Leonora Cabe, the third member of the board of election inspectors, said the testing and transmission of the PCOS and election paraphernalias has gone smoothly.

"The counting machines were tested last Saturday and that went smoothly. We got the official ballots only yesterday late in the afternoon," Cabe said, adding that the cables would not be moved or accidentally detached during the voting.
