Gibo Teodoro Miting de Avance

The crowd garbed in green came to the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila on Friday with a solitary mantra "Dapat Gibo [It should be Gibo]."

In a few minutes, Gilbert Teodoro, the standard-bearer of Lakas-Kampi-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) will be facing his supporters to tell them why he should succeed President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in Malacanang.

The 10,000-seater stadium is almost filled with supporters, many more are in the track and field oval.

Lawyer Mike Toledo, Teodoro's spokesman, said there were around 100,000 supporters in and out of the stadium.

"This is the real survey of the people and this shows Gibo is the real winner," Toledo said.

Teodoro has placed fourth in various surveys, but the administration camp does not believe them.

Cavite Representative Elpidio Barzaga said defeat was very far from their mind.

"We will not concede because we expect that will be victory as far as Gibo is concerned," he said.

Pasig Representative Roman Romulo said the country has no better choice but Teodoro.

Teodoro's miting de avance will not be star-studded unlike that on his rivals. Expected to speak are his runningmate Edu Manzano and his senatorial slate – Silvestre Bello III, Raul Lambino, Rey Langit, Ramon Guico, Ramon “Bong” Revilla and Lito Lapid.
